Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Responsible for day to day management and implementation of the, in accordance with Sr. marine superintendent developed, annual work plan of the Marine division.
• Provide input to the Sr. superintendent for the development of maintenance strategy for all technical parts of all vessels and manage the implementation.
• Manage and monitor budget on a day to day basis and provide a weekly report to the Sr. marine superintendent.
• Execute and monitor the established policies and procedures for an effective and efficient functioning of the Marine division.
• Provide accurate reports to Sr. marine superintendent on work done/ performance, issues / delays, status of assets and work forecasts.
• Analyze the weekly report provided by chief engineers. Assess equipment performance and suggest efficiency improvement techniques.
• Provide Sr. marine and dredge superintendent with technical advise on projects.
• Conduct regular visits to ensure effective and safe operation of all vessels, according to HSE requirements.Respond to QHSE reports and ensure addressed issues will be solved.
• Perform practical leadership to chief engineers by working closely with technical staff to solve technical problems.
• Supervise chief engineers during dry docking process to ensure quality of the dry docking activities
• Advice Sr. dredge master onboard to solve technical problems related to the deck.
• Maintain all the technical data, drawings and specifications about all vessels.
• Responsible for timely ordering technical aspects and spare parts.
• Provide leadership and guidance towards chief engineers.
• Efficiently cooperate with dredge superintendents, Sr. Dredge masters and electrical superintendents.
• Coordinate and plan optimal staffing for effective, efficient and safe functioning of the marine division.
• Evaluate the workload of the marine division and recommend on staffing needs to the Sr. marine superintendent following human resource procedures and processes.
• Recommend to Sr. marine superintendent on development needs of Marine division staff.
• Coordinate and execute the yearly performance evaluation process for chief engineers and beaver supervisors and ensure that the yearly performance evaluation process for the subordinates is executed.
