Sr. Consultant, IT Security

Job description / Role

Job Purpose

Perform IT security compliance and monitoring efficiently, in timely manner and quality standards as per the defined policies and procedures to achieve departmental operational plans and developments within wider scope. They are responsible for analyzing and assessing security systems and measures, outlining potential breaches, and suggesting applicable solutions.

Key Accountability Areas

Network Security:
- Configure, monitor, and maintain firewalls to control inbound and outbound traffic, and prevent unauthorized access.
- Deploy and manage intrusion detection and prevention systems to monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and block potential threats.
- Define the Minimum Baseline Security Standards (MBSS) and perform the Configuration reviews of the network technologies.
- Implement and manage VPN solutions to secure remote connections and ensure secure communication between networks.
- Implement access controls and policies to ensure that only authorized users and devices have access to the network.
- Ensure that network devices and systems are up to date with the latest security patches and updates to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Utilize SIEM tools to centralize and analyse security events and respond to potential security incidents.
- Implement network segmentation to isolate critical systems and limit the potential impact of a security breach.
- Secure wireless networks through encryption, authentication, and regular monitoring for unauthorized access.

System Security:
- To conduct secure systems technical reviews
- Knowledge of OS should span from proprietary to open-source operating systems
- Must be able to conduct role assessments on systems and its underlying function
- Must provide feedback on hardening of systems
- Identify security gaps on systems security
- Work with change management procedure
- Should be well versed in Windows, Linux, SAP

Cloud Security:
- Must be able to work and review endpoint security
- Must be able to conduct security assessments in cloud services (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS)
- Identify areas for improvement in cloud security
- Work with change management procedures

Other Areas:
- Backup assessments for all the above domains
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of network security policies and procedures.

- Ability to obtain updated soft and technical skills related to the job

Delivery:
- Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
- Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
- Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

Requirements

- Solve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

Quality:
- Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.

Business Process Improvement:
- Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.

Compliance:
- Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.

Health, Safety, and Environment:
- Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Academic Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Any relevant field

Work Experience
- 6 to 10 Years
