The core EPC activities of alfanar Construction are in the fields of:
- Power and Water Projects
- Transmission and Distribution Projects
- Building Construction (Industrial & Commercial) Projects
- Electro-Mechanical projects

Purpose: The Contract Specialist will be responsible for the review and finalization of all client contractual documents, Subcontract/Consortium Agreements with partners in close coordination with the Legal Department.

Key Accountabilities and Activities:

Bid Preparation & Submission Activities:
- Study the complete tender documents and the draft contract provided by the client and prepare pre-bid legal and commercial clarification accordingly.
- Review the contractual terms, highlight contractual risks, and propose remedies.
- Coordinate closely with the Corporate Legal Department in preparation of NDA, Pre-Bid Agreements, Sub-Contract Agreement, and Consortium agreement.
- Ensure compliance with tender requirements for all legal and contractual documents required for the bid submission.
- Prepare draft agreements for Pre-Bid / sub-contract / Consortium associations as required.
- Coordinate with legal teams of other parties to address contractual concerns and reach resolutions.

Leadership Management:
- Establish coordination between all discipline engineers for a clear understanding of the scope of works.
- Manage high-risk contracts and/or categories, including governance, risk, performance, and financial management.
- Interpret contract requirements, terms, and conditions, ensuring all parties deliver on their responsibilities.
- Establish negotiation strategies and facilitate complex contractual negotiations.
- Lead market research to understand supply chain, risks, buyer behaviors, and other contractual impact factors.
- Lead the review of expiring contracts to shape future procurement strategy and propose risk mitigation measures.

After Award Tender Support:
- Support procurement efforts and review terms and conditions of purchases.
- Assist the execution team in resolving contractual issues related to tenders.
- Provide legal support in meetings with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

Contract Management:
- Draft comprehensive contract documents that clearly define all parties' terms, conditions, and responsibilities.
- Collaborate for favorable contract terms through negotiation, ensuring mutual benefits.
- Assess risks in contract terms and conditions and propose mitigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on contract status and performance.
- Administer contracts, monitoring performance, deadlines, and obligations.

Quality Management:
- Ensure consideration of quality construction standards for bids and coordinate with the quality department for quality plans per bid requirements.

Main Contacts:
- Internal: S&PD General Manager & Discipline Managers, Supply Chain, Execution Department.
- External: Clients, Vendors, Sub-Contractors.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience: 8 - 15 years of proven working experience in legal firms dealing with contract finalization and dispute resolutions or in corporate sectors involved in EPC jobs.
- Skills: Strong understanding of contract law, legal terminology, industry-specific regulations, exceptional negotiation and communication skills, detail-oriented, proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite, excellent organizational and time-management abilities, strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in teams.
- Knowledge: Must have knowledge of FIDIC and other industrial regulations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, with relevant field experience. Certifications such as Certified PMI Risk Management Professional and from The International Federation of Consulting Engineers preferred. A Master's degree is a plus.
