Overview

Base Oils & Finished Lubricators (BOFL) is the proponent of Aramco's Bae Oils and Lubricants businesses. The department's aim is to expand Aramco's presence in the hydrocarbon value chain via the base oil and lubricant with a vision to be among the leading global Base Oils & Lubricants companies, dedicated to build long-term value for our customers and society through sustainable operations and innovation. The department manages marketing and branding activities which includes development of: brand guidelines, marketing and communication messages and platforms. In addition, the department is responsible for strategy and business development, including investment and M&A activities. BOFL also includes a technical division which oversee the Base Oils and lubricants technical programs, specifications, formulations as per industry standards with the highest approvals.

Strategy & Business Development Manager role is to provide Aramco management and Affiliate Leadership with recommendations on strategic planning activities, by providing actionable plans based on assessments of markets and competitors both existing and potential. The Manager will develop a strong understanding of Affiliate business to align strategic development to create value. The function will include Identifying and collecting appropriate customer, competitor, market, and economic, financial and/or operational data. Perform financial, statistical, and qualitative data analysis of markets and competitors. Translate data into executable and effective market and intelligence reports to be issued on a routine basis. The Strategy & Business Development Manager will develop Executive Management collateral, lead presentations and briefs. Moreover, the Strategy & Business Development manager will provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise with insights into market outlooks, market margin and pricing, Affiliate financial analysis and performance reporting, customer and market segmentation analysis, and competitive landscape. The focus is to collect strategic data and information, and perform analysis to support strategic planning and execution for the Base Oils Alliance and Affiliates.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the development of strategic plans and manage execution of Aramco Base Oils Strategy. Provide information for senior management decision-making by the Retail & Lubricant Administrative area.
- Create and update comprehensive industry, competitor and customer segment models to provide a foundation for business growth and investments.
- Develop data sources and analysis on all key elements of the Alliance financials, customer portfolio performance and growth initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Affiliate Leadership, key internal entities in Aramco and its local and international affiliates, to identify emerging needs and business challenges.
- Provides market and competitive insights through presentations and reports to the Executive Leadership Team, Affiliate Leadership and various internal management teams, to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation.
- Supplies the market and competitive intelligence component of strategic planning, and proactively makes recommendations to management concerning key intelligence items that require further consideration.
- Build strong relationships with Affiliate strategy stakeholders globally.
- Present investment and development strategies to senior management and secure their buy-in.
- Be the segment expert in base oils markets and industry.
- Mentor and develop group analysts.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business and Finance. MBA Degree preferred.
- At least 20 years' experience in Oil & Gas industry with strategy, business development and/or Mergers & Acquisitions.
- At least 5 years' experience in the Base Oils business within sales, business development, strategy and/or Mergers & Acquisitions.
- Experienced with economic analysis.
- Ability to communicate and experience delivering communications to executive management.
- International work experience & ability to engage different cultures and people from different backgrounds.
- Experience in developing business plans and market outlooks or forecasts.
- Proven manager and leader of business department or projects.
