Responsibilities:
- Performing project or task management functions as delegated by the Project Manager, including customer liaison, coordination of technical meetings, and general project supervision and coordination,
- Assisting the Project Manager in the project initiation activities and in preparation of the Project Execution Plan,
- Leading the development of the schedule and budget establishment for engineering and to control, monitor and report engineering performance against budget and schedule,
- Managing engineering activities to ensure compliance with the Scope of Work and quality objectives of the project,
- Targeted engagement of Global Subject Matter Experts and Specialist Offices where deemed required,
- Coordinating all High Value Engineering (HVE) activities (where applicable) to ensure compliance to project standards, work scope objectives and schedule milestones,
- Co-ordinate inter-discipline activities,
- Engagement and coordination of specialist technologists from the nominated specialist offices to support key elements of the engineering scope of work e.g. Modularization/ pre-packaged units etc,
- Leading and coordinating all engineering related reviews including Design Reviews, HAZOP, HAZID etc. Work with the Location Project Engineering Director to undertake the necessary TPRs, ensuring technical changes are identified and assessed for possible risk impacts,
- Ensure overall technical integrity and safe design requirements are applied,
- Ensure quality and consistency across the design,
- Ensure engineering and design project personnel are actively involved and implementing agreed risk mitigations and other actions,
- Coordinating between engineering and procurement and between engineering and construction,
- Enforcing the management of project change process within the technical team,
- Working with the Location MoE to ensure adequate resources including competent personnel are provided and processes are in place for the compliance to contractual, legal, company requirements and that personnel no longer required on the project are reported back to the Location MoE in a timely manner,
- Provide adequate training and communication around management system processes, exceptions and project requirements, including requirements stated and implied in the contract,
- Participate in management reviews of assurance findings and personally verify risk mitigations and preventive/ corrective actions for material issues are timely and effective,
- Author and implement the Engineering (SEAL) Plan,
- Overall co-ordination of data gathering,
- Assist in the resolution of design issues,
- Implement the relevant VIPs,
- Ensure all required references and standards are available to the engineering team and that measures are in place to assure compliance.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles, industry codes, and standards. Proficiency in project management tools and software
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of engineers. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering practical and cost-effective solutions
- Middle East experience is preferred and experience working with Ma'aden is considered advantageous
- Experience in the engineering development of Rare Earth Elements and Transition Metals is advantageous
