Job description / Role
Role Purpose:
Design, Develop and test configurations and software for loading source files into a 3rd normal form data model using a dedicated framework of Ab Initio or using Teradata Utilities and integrate it into the overall BI system architecture.
• Implement new and changed applications in development, test, preproduction and production environments
• Ensure proper functionality of technical application interfaces
• Work closely with business and technical unit to ensure a common understanding of requirements
• Understanding of cLDM, and align the ETL architecture for the same
• Create the Low Level Design for the specifications either suitable for Ab Initio mapping or Teradata Scripts
• Creating transformation scripts using Teradata utilities like BTEQ, FEXP, MLOAD, FASTLOAD and are well versed in writing Teradata procedures and Macros
• Implement these specifications by using the configuration tools (Ab Initio ACE, Ab Initio MDWP, Shell, etc) in place
• Besides configuration, custom development need to be done that requires a deep knowledge of Ab Initio development (Ab Initio Co-Operating System, Ab Initio GDE, Shell, Perl) and Teradata scripting
• Work closely with product vendors in case defects in the products (Ab Initio) are detected
• Provide Root Cause Analysis for defects to minimize defects in future
• Ab Initio and related products, Unix Shell scripting or Teradata and related Utilities
• Data Warehousing concepts
• ETL Concepts knowledge and basics of standard architecture
