Job Title: Transport Specialist

Job Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated Transport Specialist to join our construction team. The Transport Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all transportation logistics and activities on the construction site, ensuring the timely and efficient movement of materials, equipment, and personnel. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders to support project objectives.

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate transportation logistics for materials, equipment, and personnel to and from the construction site.
- Plan and schedule delivery and pickup of materials and equipment, considering project timelines and resource availability.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to coordinate transportation arrangements and ensure timely deliveries.
- Monitor transportation operations to identify and address any issues or delays promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including delivery schedules, vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and driver logs.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, including weight limits, vehicle safety standards, and driver qualifications.
- Implement safety protocols and procedures for transportation activities, including proper loading and securing of materials and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and comply with safety standards.
- Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to prioritize transportation needs and support project requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to drivers and transportation personnel to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Respond to transportation-related emergencies and incidents, coordinating with emergency services and other relevant parties as necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and operations, to optimize transportation processes and efficiency.

Requirements

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in logistics, transportation management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in transportation logistics, preferably in a construction or similar industry.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with transportation management software and systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
