Tunnel Deputy Construction Manager

Job description / Role

My client is a leading international contractor who work on major construction projects all over the world and have an excellent reputation. They are currently working on the construction of a huge civils project on the NEOM development and are looking to recruit an experienced deputy construction manager to oversee the construction of 10 tunnel front excavations, including but not limited to blast, drilling and grouting activities, supervising the tunnel engineers, preparing estimates for time and material, completing quality assurance, observing health and safety standards, and compiling reports for different stakeholders.

• Organizing materials and ensuring sites are safe and clean.
• Preparing cost estimates and ensuring appropriate materials and tools are available.
• Providing technical advice and suggestions for improvement on constructability of the project.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment as required.
• Authorizing technical drawings and engineering plans.
• Preparation of Method of Statements and revision of shop drawings.
• Drawing up work schedules and communicating any adjustments to crew members and clients.
• Gathering data, compiling reports and delivering presentations to relevant stakeholders.
• Delegating tasks and scheduling meetings and training sessions where required.

Requirements

• Candidates should have a degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a similar subject and should have a proven track record of working as a construction manager on major tunnel construction projects.
• Candidates should have middle east experience and must have NATM./drill and blast experience
