Employment: Full Time

Atkins is looking to hire an Urban Economic Adviser to provide economic analysis of cities and a broad range of topics, such as housing, transportation, land use, the cost and benefit of cities and urbanization.

Responsibilities:

• Planning, including resourcing, upfront workplans and project management toolkits
• Take ownership of client deliverables and project delivery, including full execution and review of deliverables
• Plans and prioritizes work activities to meet the organization and client’s goals
• Applies strategic approach to problem solving
• Closely managing team members’ day-to-day activities as well as interaction with client and key stakeholders
• Seeks and applies knowledge, information, and best practices from within and outside of the project
• Help in building the Strategy delivery capability with high quality people, training and coaching
• Develop, lead and manage sales opportunities, across the whole lifecycle
• Design and execute analyses on clients’ problems and markets to validate key hypotheses

• Capability Building & Knowledge Transfer

Requirements

• 8-10 years of experience in economic advisory, preferably with a background in urban planning
• Ability to offer practical advice on urban economic issues related to macro-economic factors, urban infrastructure, transportation, housing related issues and the governments’ role in contributing to economic development
• Strong project management skills, including multidisciplinary teams from economic, financial or engineering backgrounds
• Need a good understanding of economic pricing, resource management strategies and incentive measures to drive economic efficiency
• Demonstrates outstanding communication skills, verbal and written, in English; abilities in Arabic a strong asset
