Job Title: Workshop Facility Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our team, specializing in the maintenance and repair of construction and commercial equipment. The Specialist Heavy Vehicle Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of heavy vehicles and equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, forklifts, trucks, generators, and other construction and commercial machinery. This position requires advanced technical knowledge, diagnostic expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship to ensure the reliability and performance of our equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced diagnostic procedures and troubleshooting on heavy vehicles and equipment to identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
• Conduct comprehensive inspections of machinery to detect potential problems and assess overall condition.
• Execute complex repairs and replacements of defective parts/components, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
• Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and equipment to diagnose and rectify technical issues efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of diagnostic tests, repair work performed, parts used, and equipment history.
• Collaborate with workshop management and operations team to prioritize and schedule maintenance and repair tasks effectively.
• Order, track, and manage inventory of specialized parts and components necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and equipment operators.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
• Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies, and advancements in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair techniques.
• Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for specialized repairs or technical support as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the workshop.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or a related field required.
• Proven experience as a specialist heavy vehicle technician, with a focus on construction and commercial equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems in heavy vehicles and equipment.
• Expertise in diagnostic procedures and troubleshooting techniques for complex technical issues.
• Proficiency in using specialized diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and workload.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
