Lead Facade Designer

Job description / Role

My client, a leading Specialist Facade Consultancy with offices in Dubai & London are seeking an individual who has a keen interest for learning, ability to communicate in English, passion for facades, and strong communication (both written and oral) skills to be a part of their expanding practice in Singapore working on complex designs.

Requirements

Applicants shall possess the following:

- Min. 8 years’ experience in design environment in as a lead designer in a contractor environment.
- Strong interest in the technical, and design of architecture and façade
- Understanding of the local regulations, international codes (for instance, Eurocodes or American codes)
- Understand fundamentals of Façade design and support strategies.
- Possess ability to provide design concepts in hand sketches
- Possess the ability to effectively communicate design concepts to engineers and other designers.
- Competence in reading Architectural/Structural/Façade Drawings and details
- Competence in using the following software is necessary
- AutoCAD 2D and 3D
- Revit
- Grasshopper + Rhino
- Competence in using will be deemed as an advantage;
- 3D Max
- Sketchup 3D
- Inventor

Some of the tasks that the successful candidate will undertake include:

- Research or familiarization of local codes/standards
- Collaborate with local/overseas team members to resolve design issues and deliverables.
- Review of architectural drawings and structural drawings to establish design parameters or design façade support strategies
- Study and review of building geometry
- Preparation of initial system design, and lead a team of teams to complete system design.
