Facade Designer / Engineer (Senior and Intermediate Level)

Adept Personnel are currently working with an internationally renowned engineering & construction Organisation which are ranked within the top 20 contractors worldwide. They are currently carrying out the construction of a large scaled mixed use waterfront resort development project in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Report to Facade manager

The work scope of the Candidate includes entire aspects of Facade design and construction not limited to;
- Review Contract documents and report to the Façade Manager for contractual issues, variations.
- Write RFIs (Request for information) and communicate with the Engineer’s design team and consultants for design intent to be incorporated into our design development.
- Review subcontractors’ submittals including system design, Mock up drawings, Shop drawings, RFIs and Material approval requests.
- Attend various workshops and progress meetings as needed and write meeting minutes for record.
- Inspect subcontractors’ installation and report to the faced Manager and coordinate with construction team and GA/QC team.
- Observe various required tests and report the results and issues.
- Report site construction progress.
- Collaborate with our multi-discipline in house engineers and architects through façade design development, shop drawings preparation, testing and installation of Facade.
- Have ability to communicate between client’s representative, consultants, subcontractors with good verbal, writing skills.
- Be dependable and passionate about; producing various quality design documents for submittals; checking and reviewing various subcontractors’ documents in timely manner,
- Have good personality, work ethics in multi-national team environment.
- Be capable of reading and interpreting all project contract documents, not only for Façade drawings but also other discipline design documents.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited University
- English fluency is a MUST. Ability to speak in Chinese is a strong PLUS.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Facade industry for Design and Engineering works.
- Working experience in construction job sites in large scale projects is a PLUS
- Strong proficiency in reading of Architecture, structure, MEP, Interior drawings.
- Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing and Installation methodology, reading shop Drawing/calculation and standards, codes.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D software and engineering calculations.
- Strong knowledge of BS, EN codes is a Plus
