Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose: Manage & supervise all the exploration activities of DAL Mining Operations in a manner that serve the company’s best interests.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- To manage and direct of the overall exploration function.
- Identify where exploration activities must take place.
- Participate and direct his team in the designing of the exploration programs.
- Identify what exploration methodologies must be used during exploration programs.
- Identify new exploration areas.
- Design and direct geological exploration activities for the selected areas.
- Provide geo-science leadership for the exploration crews, including review, development and maintenance of best technical practices.
- Provide analysis and interpretation of the geology and prospectus of the Company’s tenement to define exploration opportunities.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to the Company’s field geoscientists, including the development of technical training programs.
- Lead exploration program reviews and strategic exploration planning.
- Manage, control & schedule exploration programs.
- Prepare and submit all legal reports which are deliverable to authorities to his supervisor.
- Compile and control the exploration budget.
- Stay abreast of national perspectives on minerals exploration and development opportunities
- Report and make recommendations to superiors & managers by means of meetings, verbal reports and in writing in accordance with immediate supervisor’s/manager’s requests.

Requirements

- A University degree in Geology
- Formal qualification in exploration
- Training courses
- 15 years experience is preferable
- Knowledge / experience of the local exploration industry (intensive)
- Knowledge / experience of national geology
- Experience with computer and MS Office Apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and dedicated geological software

Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties at all levels
- Ability to deal and negotiate effectively with external parties at all levels
- Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with local people, local government and colleagues
- Numerate, analytical, attention to detail
- Intensive knowledge of the geology & exploration market
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Able to multitask and work on a variety of activities simultaneously
- A strong-sense of teamwork and ability to both manage and execute programs
- Fluency in English language
