Head of Secondary

Job description / Role

m2r Education are working with this British international school who require a Head of Secondary for an August 2020 start.

This is a growing co-ed school, established 7yrs ago. It delivers the English National Curriculum from age 3 - 19 and has a mix of local and international students. It is fully accredited with an international teaching base (majority from the UK) alongside Tunisian TAs. The school is locatted in the north of Tunis in a mostly expatriate area on the Mediterranean coast. Most staff live close to the beach.

The school is rapidly expanding and as such need a new Head of Secondary to join for the upcoming 20/21 academic year. This role does not have a formal teaching load however you may be required to teach if the need arises.

Role:

- To work with the Principal to deliver a shared vision and strategic plan
- To line manage senior and middle leadership colleagues
- To deputise for the Principal and provide day to day operational management
- To work closely with the Principal and Governors to ensure they are fully informed of all developments in the school
- To lead by example in the classroom

Salary:
GBP 3,500 to 3,700 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Requirements

- A subject specialist degree from a reputable institution
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / PGCE or equivalent, plus leadership traing such as NPQH
- Teaching experience up to GCSE and A level
- A working knowledge of Capita SIMS, for timetabling and assessment management
- Experience of teaching in the UK or at an accredited British International School (to GCSE)
- Proven track of leading inspections
- Senior leadership experience
- Basic knowledge of finance and budgeting
- Knowledge of primary education and KS2 to KS3 transition

- c. £3600 per month dependant on experience
- The above INCLUDES the housing allowance (Cost of living is VERY cheap)
