Entrepreneurial Skills and Business Plan

In today's world many feel that their best opportunity is in starting an own business. However, future entrepreneurs need to be prepared to effectively address the broad range of challenges to be successful. Entrepreneurship is composed of discrete skills, strategies and behaviours that can be well modelled. This course is designed to explore the complexities of starting and developing a new business, including an assessment of personal strengths and weaknesses and analysis of existing opportunities and threats. You will be given a cutting-edge education in entrepreneurial and innovative business practices and upon completion of this course, you will be able to effectively initiate, develop, grow and manage new ventures. In other words, you will gain knowledge about how to create, develop and exploit business opportunities by starting up and managing new ventures.

DURATION: 10 hours

SCHEDULE: 5 weeks: Classes are on Tuesdays from 1PM-3PM or 6PM-8PM, Fridays or Saturdays 1PM-3PM on request, more schedules on request.

CONTENT: Key concepts of entrepreneurial management through discussion of theory and the practicalities of preparing and writing a business plan for a projected new venture, understanding the challenges of new venture creation in a comprehensive and integrative way, developing an "entrepreneurial mindset", experiencing the early stages of the entrepreneurial process by working on a business project proposal, sharpening your ability to analyse and evaluate venture opportunities and being able to write and present a convincing business project proposal.

At the end of the course, you should be able to demonstrate analytical and conceptual skills, apply theory to practical case studies, demonstrate team work skills, demonstrate discussion and presentation techniques and prepare a feasibility study of a new venture.
