Accountant

Job description / Role

The accountant provides timely month and quarter end closings with accuracy and integrity.

Under the general guidance of the Corporate Office, the accountant is responsible for overall financial accounting, reporting and relevant financial activities (Vendors, Payroll support, Expense management, Disbursements, Payroll support etc.).

TREASURY & BUDGET
- Cash Management (Weekly and Monthly Cash flow forecast and variance analyses)
- Preparing on-line bank payments (Vendors & Employees)
- Bank Reconciliations (Monthly and Quarterly)
- Assists with the preparation of the annual budgets.
- Cost management

ACCOUNTING
- Accounting of Supplier invoices in the financial systems
- Accounting Employee related expenses in the financial systems (Including Advances)
- Payroll Accounting
- Assets Reconciliation
- Reconciliations.

PAYABLES
- Prepares payments of invoices and employee disbursements
- Manages expense accruals in the accounting system
- Reconciliations.

REPORTS
- Manage prompt and accurate monthly reporting to HO
- Prepares monthly financial reports to the GM/Regional IT Director including Financial KPI’s
- Ad HOC managements presentations as and when required

GENERAL
- Support to the payroll team for monthly payroll activities
- Support the Procurement team

Requirements

- 3-4 years work experience in a similar position.
- Degree in finance or accounting, control so that budgeting and financial reporting processes can be understood and handled easily.
- Good knowledge of the country and work practices in Dubai. This job has to be filled with an experienced local person.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to liaise, negotiate, and reach constructive agreement with office partners, suppliers or customers.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Accountant Software Package.
- Fluency in English (oral and written). Knowledge of French preferred.
