Job description / Role
The AP Accountant role is a fully functional role where you will be expected to support regional operations. You will be looking to make an early step in your career to join a dynamic work environment and a productive Finance team. This is a hands-on role, which focuses on accounts payable, expense recognition, cost analysis, fixed asset management and month end reporting.
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Respond to all internal and external inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on discrepancies
- Assist in month end closing
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions
- Prepare analysis of accounts
- Ensure compliance to Group accounting policies in transaction processing
- Oversee transaction posting in the area of AP and resolve any issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Good understanding of accounting/book-keeping and expense recognition principles
- You will have 3-5 years minimum Accounts Payable experience in a fast paced, deadline driven, high volume accounting environment
- Experience using an ERP system. Exposure to Sage and NetSuite will be looked upon favorably
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Fluent in English. Arabic is a plus
