Accounting Clerk

Job description / Role

Our client is an award winning architectural practice who are currently looking for an Accounting Clerk to join their Dubai office.

They are looking for someone with experience in accounting, bookkeeping and general clerical support.

Duties & responsibilities:
- Provide accounting support to the CEO
- Contracts / payment schedules
- Record & maintain incoming invoices and payments
- Match payments to invoices
- Prepare payments for approval
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Prepare and submit client invoices
- Ensure customers accept payments
- Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and delayed payment
- Contact individuals with delinquent accounts
- Perform all necessary account, bank and other reconciliations
- Reconciling statements
- Assist in month end reporting procedures
- Track and audit petty cash
- Assist with employee expense reports
- Prepare, maintain, sort and file accounting documents and records Skills & key competencies

Requirements

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in business or accounting or relevant certification is an advantage
- Min. 2 - 3 years of proven experience in clerical accounting in the UAE
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Very good English verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
