Accounts Officer – Compliance & Taxation (mandatory Arabic speaker)

We are looking for an Accounts Officer – Compliance & Taxation to join our Finance Team.

Reporting to the Manager Compliance & Taxation, you will be responsible to support & assist with the implementation of the Taxation policies and procedures across the Seddiqi Holding Group including tax payments, return filing and the organization and maintenance of records.

Your key accountabilities will include:

- Assist in the development, implementation and updating of Companywide taxation policies, procedures and SOPs
- Assist in smooth implementation of tax related changes in IT systems, by providing support as required within the team
- Assist in the liaison with Government departments for all tax related matters, including tax filing, registration, amendments etc
- Manage all tax related record keeping for Seddiqi Holding
- Responsible for all tax accounting including entries, reconciliations, reviews and filing
- Prepare tax reports for the Management for review and action in line with Government requirements
- Assist in development, implementation and updating of Companywide financial policies, procedures and SOPs
- Maintain vouchers and all other document files thoroughly and accurately
- Provide general accounting support to the wider Finance department in the absence of other team members as required
- Assist with other projects, reports, budgets as and when required

NOTE - Arabic speakers can be considered for this role.

Requirements

Formal Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

Experience in the function
2+ years of relevant Accounting experience

Job Knowledge

Knowledge & understanding of:
- Tax laws and regulations
- Accounting Principles, i-e GAAP/IFRS

SOP’s & Internal Controls

Functional & Technical Skills
- Good MS office skills with expertise in MS Excel
- 2+ years of large ERP system experience (SAP preferable)
- Proactive, adaptable, analytical & organized
- Problem solving, time management, planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
