Job description / Role
• Sell a variety of agricultural machinery and implements;
• Develop a customer portfolio;
• Prepare, process, submit and manage pro forma invoices for customers;
• Prepare, submit and manage bids for tenders;
• Ordering stock and inventory management;
• Liaise with suppliers regarding lead time, pricing, technical information and availability of agricultural equipment and machines;
• Drafting, processing and managing Letters of Credit;
• Achieve technical familiarity with the full range of products offered;
• Manage import, export and distribution logistics chains;
• Identify new sales opportunities;
• Devise and implement marketing strategies;
• Prepare sales, marketing and industry reports;
• Liaise and advise customers of estimated delivery schedule, service contracts and warranty;
• Keep up to date on market trends and competitors.
• Perform extensive product and industry research; and
• Willing to travel and work in different territories (in particular Africa).
Requirements
• Sales and logistics experience (at least 3 years);
• Agriculture experience - optional (at least 2 years);
• Has a Bachelor’s degree and/or masters (preferably in business or agriculture);
• Experienced at preparing and executing sales strategies;
• Experience in dealing with and processing Letters of Credit;
• Proficient at Excel and PowerPoint; and
• Fluent spoken and written English.
