Application Support Engineer

Job description / Role

On behalf of a client, a financial services company based in Dubai, we are currently looking for a Application support engineer position to be based in their Dubai office; details as below

JOB PURPOSE:
- To provide day to day and level 1 Application support to end users.
- To work and coordinate directly with third party Application and technology providers to support and resolve production issues

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide day to day support for the company's business applications and systems
- Assist and respond to the staff on application related queries
- Manage, log, monitor and respond to the company's business application incidents and requests
- Analyze and troubleshoot systems & application issues
- Assist and resolve all Application issues
- Coordinate with the Data Centre to support the company's Applications
- Coordinate and follow up with Third Party Application Vendors and Technology providers to support applications
- Installation and configuration of business application at end users stations
- Document and maintain change requests and logs
- Provide and support in Ad-hoc development of Reports/SQL database queries
- Provide and assist in facilitating and providing systems and application remote access.
- Support Project Managers and business during project life cycle and implementation
- Assist in Application testing

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:
- Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge: Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum Experience (number of years): 4 years

JOB-SPECIFIC /TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Java, XML, Web services (SOAP, WSDL). .Net, SQL
- Good Knowledge of Sharepoint, Jira, MS project desirable
- Good understanding of SDLC and structured Project management
- Demonstrate ability to build solid working relationships with colleagues and team members as well as collaborating with Third Party Vendors
- Demonstrate ability to work alone as well as part of a team
