Employment: Full Time

The Assistant Manager, Housing & Colleague Relations will be responsible for the organization, communication and roll out of all colleague activities in the hotel as well as the accommodation. This role is responsible for promoting colleague relations by enhancing social aspects of Fairmont Bab Al Bahr’s colleagues.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
• Oversee Housing office, and building maintenance, room changes/assignment and key control.
• Responsible for all aspects of administration for all Fairmont Bab Al Bahr (Manager and Colleague apartments).
• Ensuring each new resident is provided adequate, clean, fully equipped and well maintained accommodation.
• Ensure quality of units and supplied items are maintained.
• Responsible for maintaining all equipment provided to Colleagues (personal areas & public areas).
• Directly responsible for ensuring that the level of Accommodation cleanliness is well maintained.
• Liaise with Maintenance and Security maintaining good rapport and a continued high level of communication, to ensure support and assistance is obtained as required.
• Coordinate, participate and follow up on quarterly room checks/furniture inventories.
• Be creative in seeking solutions to a myriad of problems and concerns that may arise on a daily basis from residents. Many resident concerns may be of a very personal nature and a comfort level in dealing with such situations is imperative.
• Effectively communicate with residents.
• Communicate, administer and enforce policies and procedures outlined by Accommodation Procedure and Residential Lease agreements.
• Responsible for Shuttle Services to and from the hotel. Coordinate all bookings/cancellations for Colleague transportation requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring that all Colleagues & Management arrival & cancellations are done to outlined specifications.
• Responsible for arranging transportation to and from the airport for arriving & departing Colleagues and Management.
• Ensuring that Colleague and Management receive “Welcome Kits” to ensure that the majority of their housing questions are addressed.
• Provide a high level of colleague satisfaction through effective communication and counseling
• Coach Accommodation Colleagues and ensure the necessary training is provided, as required by the department core standards.
• Provide and ensure staff and colleagues work and reside in a safe environment
• Effectively manage and control of assets
• Directly participate on and/or mentor a colleague that contributes to a Hotel Committee
• Learn and effectively oversee all other areas of department in the absence of co-leaders and managers
• Adhere to all environmental practices and implement creative ideas for new initiatives
• Create, administer, summarize and set goals or Accommodation Colleague’s Opinion Survey Supplement.
• On site warehouse supervisor; responsible for ensuring that all items are checked prior to entering/departing the warehouse.
• Any other duties as assigned by the HR Director

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Previous experience is an asset
• Mature, enthusiastic and energetic with proven abilities to resolve issues
• Able to work in a fast paced environment and able to manage constant change
• Ability to effectively manage challenging situations; balancing empathy with assertiveness is key
• Must be flexible and able to handle a variety of tasks
• Must be detail oriented, highly organized and be a self directed person motivated by challenge
• Proven ability to communicate with peers, both oral and written
• Aware of safety of self and co-workers
• Computer experience with MS Word, Excel an asset

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift

• Please note that you must be eligible to live and work in Abu Dhabi. Fairmont Bab Al Bahr will cover visa costs and flights for selected candidates from place of origin.
