Assistant Procurement Manager

Job description / Role

We are looking for an innovative Assistant Procurement Manager (Hotel) to lead our procurement team. You will spearhead the purchasing process from selecting suppliers to ensuring stock optimization, as well as provide guidance on sourcing and procurement processes.
Our procurement manager will be a supply chain and logistics expert who will specialize in implementing cost-effective purchases of all goods and services, as required by the company. Ensuring quality control and adhering to the company’s policies and procedures on supply chain management will be some of your main priorities when carrying out this role.

Job Responsibilities:
• Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with international suppliers for goods and services.
• Conduct negotiations with global suppliers, considering factors such as shipping, customs, and international regulations.
• Ensure that products and services from international suppliers meet the hotel's quality standards and comply with relevant international regulations.
• Manage currency exchange considerations for international transactions.
• Implement strategies for cost optimization on a global scale while maintaining quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with international industry standards, regulations, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Stay informed about changes in international regulations affecting the hospitality industry.
• Maintain accurate records of international purchases, contracts, and agreements.
• Effectively communicate with international suppliers, internal teams, and hotel management.
• Stay updated on global industry trends, international trade regulations, and best practices in international hotel procurement.

Salary:
AED 7,000 to 8,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in supply chain management, hotel management or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, hotel management or supply chain management.
• Familiarity with the hotel industry, its operations, and the specific procurement needs within this sector.
• Experience in negotiating contracts and managing relationships with suppliers, specifically those relevant to the hotel industry (e.g., food and beverage, linens, amenities).
• Practical experience overseeing procurement processes within a hotel environment, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
• Background in ensuring that purchased products and services meet quality standards, particularly in the context of hotel operations.
• Experience managing inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock, considering the unique requirements of the hotel industry.
• Ability to monitor and optimize procurement expenses in a way that aligns with the financial goals of the hotel.
• Relevant certifications in procurement or supply chain management, especially those tailored to the hospitality industry.
