The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University.

The appointee will be involved in teaching various aspects of Biochemistry to undergraduate medical as well as graduate students at various levels and is expected to pursue an active research program. The specific interests of the Department include: molecular biology/epigenetic of cancer and diabetes, oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction and the effects of environmental agent on immune response, the molecular basis of diseases induced by retroviruses, signal transduction pathways, and neuro degenerative diseases. It is expected that the appointee's research interests and background will add to the expertise of the exciting faculty and bring a different flavor of Biochemistry to the Department.

Requirements

Minimum Qualification

• Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D or M.D. or equivalent higher professional qualification plus evidence of scholarly publications and provide evidence of undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching experience in Biochemistry
