Assistant Resident Engineer

Job description / Role

• To assist the Resident Engineer as required in accordance with the requirements of the project.
• Regular site visits, inspections etc.
• Liaison with and coordinate with all technical disciplines.
• Attend Site Technical Coordination Meetings to discuss Contractor(s) submissions, Shop Drawings and construction related matters.
• Inspect and monitor the work done by the contractor(s) to ascertain that work is proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents and accepted practice.
• Ensure compliance with approved method statements and drawings, layouts etc.
• Witnessing the site activities and testing.
• Assist the Resident Engineer in the carrying out of the final inspection for certification of completion and handing over of the works.
• Ensure that safety measures on site are adequate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in site supervision and construction field.
• Experience as a Resident Engineer in construction projects of substation/ OHL.
• Previous experience with TRANSCO/ADDC/AADC/EWE is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices, local and international construction codes and regulations.
• Project management and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Review and approve project plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Maintain quality and compliance with industry/client standards and regulations.
• Perform quality control inspections and assessments.
