Organisation Unit Purpose

The Group IT ITIO (IT Infrastructure, Operations and Application COE) team develops and supports a comprehensive catalogue of technology services and platforms. The success of the team is measured through service availability, high velocity delivery of new and enhanced IT services that enable and empower the business and through the successful balancing of cost, capability development, risk and overall service performance.

As part of ITIO the IT Operations team is focused on driving the always available bank. We are the heartbeat of the organisation focused on ensuring all IT services remain highly available, are resilient and recoverable. The team embraces new ways of working by enabling high velocity delivery through agile and lean service management practices while maintaining the focus on service quality and availability, ensuring we operate within the Groups risk appetite.

Job Purpose (Why does the job exist? What is the unique contribution made by the job holder?)

As part of the IT Operations leadership team, the management role has 3 core focus areas - Operational Delivery of the infrastructure tier for the Enterprise, integrating the application and infrastructure services to ensure business service availability and embracing new ways of working with infrastructure design / delivery teams.

The Infrastructure Operations Manager will ensure the team (including technology partner) provide 24 x 7 management of the infrastructure services across the Group. The role will also act as a service integrator and understand the dependency of core application services. Focused on driving service resilience and availability the team will work closely with infrastructure delivery to ensure minimization of technical debt / risk in the environment.

Scope of the role includes core infrastructure, network, security and technology component such as different types of server environment (Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, VMWARE, etc), Storage, backup, Database (Oracle, Sybase & MS SQL), middle wares (Web logic, Web sphere), routing, switching, firewalls, IPS, Web Firewalls, load balancers, connectivity, LAN/ WAN, wireless, voice/ video and unified communication solutions.

This role is critical in driving service performance across the infrastructure segment and ensuring we become a trusted partner of the business.

Requirements

Education:

IT based degree, university degree, or equivalent work experience required.

* Experience in managing high performing teams within complex technology environments
* 10+ years in IT Operations within an organization of more than 4000 users with at least 4 years of experience in banking
* 5+ years experience in Infrastructure Management and Operations
* 3+ years experience in Service Delivery reporting and business stake holder management

Knowledge & Skills:

Technical/Functional:

* Expertise in IT Service Management, with a core operations competency
* Current experience with next-generation IT Operations solutions.
* Functional and technical understanding of critical application systems and infrastructure services.
* Strong understanding to the technical application / infrastructure risks, security, compliance and audit requirements.

* Leadership and strategic planning

* Experience in contributing to and executing technology service development plans or road maps
