Banquet Concierge

The Banquet Concierge acts as the primary liaison between Conference and Catering and Banquets in order to ensure that the Banquet Event Orders and billing instructions are correct.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Banquet Concierge, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

- Assist the Senior Banquet Concierge with the handling of Banquet Event Order billings and postings.
- Ensuring that all menus, signages and buffet tags are prepared as per the Banquet Event Order and confirming with the culinary department of any changes to the menu.
- The signage screen is updated on a regular basis and that all meeting room plasma screens are posted with the correct event name.
- Any changes received from guests are communicated immediately to banquet leader on duty.
- Make sure all other public areas (rest rooms, falcon lawn etc.) are inspected and any requirements are communicated to the appropriate department.
- Banquet Concierge assists in retrieving any boxes/meeting materials that may have been shipped in advance, ensuring that they are placed at registration area.
- Banquet Concierge offers any other assistance to meeting planner that may be needed ( i.e., assistance with placing out meeting materials, going to Business Center for photocopies , etc).
- Banquet Concierge is stationed in Lobby area, directing guests to appropriate meeting room locations.
- Once a meeting has begun, Banquet Concierge assists in closing meeting room doors. At break times, Banquet Concierge once again opens doors and directs guests to rest rooms, phones, etc. In addition, Banquet Concierge communicates to leader on duty as the group breaks for room refreshes.
- At lunch breaks or where groups go into break-out rooms, Banquet Concierge escorts group to the correct location.

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Previous Food and Beverage leadership experience required.
- Previous point of sale system experience required.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required.
- University/College degree in a related discipline preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly responsible & reliable

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

- Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling.
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Visa Requirements:

Please note that you must be eligible to live and work in Abu Dhabi. Fairmont Bab Al Bahr will cover visa costs and flights for selected candidates from place of origin.
