Job Description

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and serve beverage orders according to recipes and service standards.
• Be fully knowledgeable about all bar products and cocktail recipes.
• Up-sell with each customer interaction.
• Provide high personalized standards of quality and efficient/friendly service.
• Prepare mise en place and perform side duties.
• Collect all general requisitions and food and beverage requisitions.
• Adhere strictly to opening and closing procedures established for the outlet and check beverage stock.
• Have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all beverage items and prepare garnishes for each cocktail accordingly.
• Ensure the bar counter and surrounding area are kept clean and organized at all times.
• Monitor operating supplies to reduce spoilage and wastage.
• Handle guest inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Establish rapport with guests to maintain good customer relationships.
• Perform cashiering functions and ensure outlet cashiering procedures are strictly adhered to.
• Ensure proper presentation and display of premium liquors on shelves with defined quantities.
• Have garnishes ready for all cocktails upon opening of the bar.
• Coach and train new recruits through on-the-job training.
• Perform any assigned duties in the Banqueting Department or others.
• Assist in training employees to ensure they have necessary skills for maximum efficiency.
• Assist in carrying out monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly, yearly inventory of operating equipment.
• Report for duty punctually, maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
• Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times.
• Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.
• Read and understand the hotel's Employee Handbook and adhere to rules and regulations, particularly those relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
• Comply with local legislation as required.
• Respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel.
• Be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
• Attend training and meetings as required.

Requirements

Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree in vocational hospitality, with 1-2 years of experience in a 4-5 star hotel.
