Description

* Work alongside the data engineering team to create best practice data architecture / reporting layers
* Write and maintain ETL jobs to populate data into the data warehouse
* Performance tune queries to optimise data load/transform times
* Ensure data accuracy and data quality
* Create a 'single version of truth' and maintain appropriate documentation to enforce methodology
* Champion data quality, integrity and reliability throughout the department by designing and promoting best practices

Requirements

* Strong SQL skills, knowledge of advanced windowing functions
* In depth knowledge of data lake, data warehouse/BI development with a focus on auditability, end-to-end lineage
* Experience of working with cloud-based data warehouse systems, design and implementation (eg. Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery )
* Knowledge of dimensional modelling, including temporal modelling (SCD)
* Performance tuning experience in relational and distributed systems
* Experience of working with visualisation tools (eg. Tableau, Looker)
* Experience of agile development methodologies
* Experience of ETL tools e.g. Pentaho, Talend, Fivetran, DBT etc and streaming approaches e.g. Change Data Capture (CDC)
