JOB OVERVIEW:

The BIM Manager will support the Design Supervision and Production Team to execute the day to day development, establishment and implementation of digital practices in the Buildings Design Team and prestigious projects. The BIM Manager will be responsible for the effective implementation and compliance adoption of digital standards, processes and protocols both at a segment and project level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate and support the MEA Digital Engineering Management Organization activities with the development and implementation of the MEA Digital Engineering Roadmap.
• Support the Building Design Director and participate when requested in the MEA Engineering Steering Committee activities with the development and implementation of the MEA Digital Engineering Roadmap
• Develop and manage the implementation program of the MEA Digital Engineering Roadmap component solutions within the MEA Building Segment & associated Services Lines.
• Manage the process to achieve BIM Level 2 Certification with British Standard Institute
• Provide progress and performance updates as required e.g. Clients and Building Design Director.
• Issue and respond to all formal correspondences related to Digital activities
• Develop and support Proposal Leads in Request for Proposals (RFP) e.g. clarifications, technical write up, level of efforts etc.
• Coordinate with MEA IS and manage the deployment of hardware and applications as required for Supervision and Production teams
• Project manage Digital implementation activities with Vendors e.g. Capability assessments, Digital enablement, establishment, project support, training etc.
• Provide hands-on BIM software training for Project Teams (Train the Trainer approach).
• Manage the configuration of ProjectWise and/or BIM 360 for Project use.
• Develop and maintain specific BIM authoring software template files to assure standards compliance.
• Manage and support object(s) creation and maintain libraries according to the relevant Project(s) and stage(s) as needed.
• Develop and ensure Project teams compliance with Digital Design and Collaboration Workflows
• Priorities with Design Leads, develop and automate routines in BIM authoring, analysis and collaboration to support standards, quality and enhance productivity
• Develop Pre and Post Contract BIM Execution Plan and support the Design Leads in development of Task and Master Information Delivery Plan (TIDP and MIDP) for Digital Design delivery
• Manage, support and validate Project Design delivery e.g. modeling, detailing, scheduling and extraction
• Manage and ensure Project Information Models (PIM’s) are delivered in accordance with the agreed TIDP, MIDP, ProjectWise and/or BIM360 protocol.
• Develop the process, perform, measure and ensure the highest quality for all BIM model package submissions in accordance with Project Digital standards and requirements
• Review, monitor and report on the development of clash interference and coordinated models with Design Leads for resolution and closure
• Collaborate and coordinate with the Project delivery team Design-changes and model challenges
• Prepare validation reports for milestone BIM package submissions
• Validate and export model geometry and data to schedules for internal design and commercial activities
• Support the Quality department in conducting audits and supply chain non-conformance(s)
• Support Procurement, Legal and Project Controls Teams in Digital related activities.
• Develop BIM specification(s) documentation and support integration with Tender(s)
• Monitor and support utilization of applications augmenting model use during Construction and Handover
• Perform Quality Checks and report deviations of Construction installation with Design intent models
• Perform Quality Checks and report on the quality of As-built models
• Monitor and support the data collection process and validate Asset Information Models (AIM’s) e.g. Construction Operation Building Information Exchange (COBie) and/or Client Specific requirements.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
• At least 10 years’ experience in design consultancy for buildings project delivery.
• At least 7 years’ experience in BIM Implementation on major projects or programs, multistory buildings.
• Proven experience with British BIM Standards PAS1192 and BS1192
• Proficient in a range of BIM authoring and proprietary software applications such as: Revit, Civil 3D, Dynamo, Navisworks, ProjectWise, BIM 360 Glue/Field or similar applications.
• Possess excellent English communication skills with an ability to form effective relationship with project delivery team, Client, and Contractor.
• Excellent writing skills in preparing letters, technical instructions, analytical reports, and presentations.
• Preferably with experience in Middle East/Gulf Countries.
