Brokerage Risk Manager

Job description / Role

The role of Risk Manager - Brokerage will work closely with the dealing desk and the brokerage sales teams to provide oversight and risk management over the financial risks associated over a core business line including market and credit risk.

The role will involve quantitative approaches providing automation, analytics and modeling for the risk department as well as work with the IT and Business Intelligence teams to maintain risk-based analytics, implement and test new models and enhance the company’s risk systems.

The role will also interact with clients to articulate the company’s risk management philosophy and negotiate risk related commercial points.

Requirements

• Research, develop quantitative/analytic risk models and monitor performance including hedging strategy optimisation, statistical estimations of market and credit risk
• Development and automation of risk monitoring reports and tools for the risk department
• Perform risk analysis on a client and product level to derive appropriate collateral and margin requirements by improving and developing margin methodologies and client credit data
• Perform and partner with other members of the risk department on back tests, stress tests, scenario analyses and sensitivity analysis across risk disciplines
• Assist in the development of internal assessment of capital and liquidity requirements and buffers
• Take responsibility for developing the risk framework, controls, analysis and monitoring system for trading, trading algorithms and client portfolio risk assessments
• Prepare data driven evidence and documents to support internal and external risk enquiries
• Perform data analyses for various purposes including deep dives into such areas as client categorisation
• Prepare and present briefings to senior management on key risk issues
• Maintain active dialogue with trading desks, corporate treasury, risk management colleagues and other support groups regarding training and hedging strategies, risk representation and limit compliance
• Take responsibility for the data integrity and aggregation of in house and external risk systems
• Review portfolio and trading models as an oversight function
• Review sales onboarding risk requirements and provide oversight and challenge
• Other job duties, as directed.
