Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:
Responsible for Developing and maintaining a high performing team for Credit Cards sales while focusing on developing new business opportunities in assigned region.

The job responsibilities include but not limited to:

Team Building:
• Hiring, developing & retaining people as per assigned head count.
• Target allocation & monitoring of assigned team.
• Performance Evaluation of assigned team and maintaining an MIS for daily/weekly/monthly numbers trends for feedback to team & for necessary action.
• Drive a high performance culture by constantly motivating the direct reports.
• To deliver upon the committed budgeted numbers.
• Drive penetration into targeted employers through business development activities such as presentations to key management personnel and employees.
• Building close working relationships with colleagues across the organisation
• Ongoing coaching and developing of assigned team members.
• Ensuring that the customer is at the heart of everything we do as a business, and that you are focused on delivering an exceptional client experience.
• Adherence to all regulatory requirements as specified in the Compliance manuals, Policy manuals and Sales Standards.

Sales Performance
• Achieve or exceed all sales and performance targets, reviewed weekly/ monthly and quarterly with agreed action plans
• Ensuring that all performance standards set for the sales function are achieved.
• Delivering the right levels of service skills within sales process.
• Develop close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance business performance e.g. being a key player in the local market, ensuring relationships are maximized, developing and actively maintaining links with the business community.
• Develop and maintain a detailed up to date knowledge of all Credit Cards and wider UAE Banking products.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of industry developments and changes in working practices.
• Identifying ways of growing and building our Credit Cards book via micro marketing activities.
• Pursue your own development to increase personal effectiveness – acknowledging strengths and areas for development, taking action to address these.
• To effectively co-ordinate all sales related administration to ensure accurate completion of relevant paperwork and make the process smoother.
• Induction of new employers through new company listing and building relationships with the existing set of assigned employers for bulk sourcing.

Teamwork
• Act as CC knowledge expert for the benefit of the institution, sharing industry knowledge and expertise.
• Share knowledge, experience and best practice with other team members.
• Actively participate in regular reviews and development meetings with line manager, to assist in achieving personal and team objectives.
• Actively participate in wider team meetings and shall be responsible to manage such meetings.
• Deal with any Credit Cards related customer queries or complaints received.
• Collate sales figures for the Sales Manager/HOS generating any performance statistics also generating any error reports.

Operational Rigor:
• To ensure compliance Sales Standards and Operational Rigor processes and procedures including Money Laundering, Know Your Customer, Data Protection, Consumer Credit Act and Banking Code along with any current or future Training and Competence scheme, and maintain an accurate Record of Achievement
• Achieve Regulatory and operational risk and rigor excellence in all aspects of procedures & processes undertaken
• Active management of all significant risks within the Credit Cards.

Business Development:
• It is the core responsibility of a BDM to ensure the new business opportunities are created in the region, which shall not be limited to the listing of new employers, regular updating of the TML list of the company

Requirements

Personal Characteristics and Required Background:

Skillset (job specific technical skills and behavioral competencies needed)
• Competent in selling Credit Cards with proved records, with experience in a regulated target-led sales environment
• Highly effective and able to work in a mixed culture environment
• Strong knowledge of the regulated financial services and banking industries
• Working knowledge of external competitor activity within local area
• Detailed knowledge of competitor products and services
• In depth understanding and working knowledge of lending criteria.
• Detailed knowledge of the market best Practices
• Excellent working knowledge of relevant legislation i.e. Financial Services Act, Code of Banking Practice
• Excellent working knowledge of CC regulations.
• Fully understands the regulatory requirements of operating in a regulated sales environment and the implications of any breach of standards
• Understands and proactively applies the Credit Cards strategy and policies

Minimum experience
Minimum of 5 years of banking/financial industry/retail/consumer finance industry experience with 2 years in people management or in a business development/account management role.

Minimum Qualifications/education
Bachelors degree preferably or diploma in business related subjects.
