Business Development Manager - Marine

Objectives: We are seeking a Business Development Manager - Marine to work for one of our Dubai clients who are a Marine Sub-Contractor. The role will consist of networking at the highest level and ensuring that the company is well positioned to win Marine Construction work in the UAE.

Main responsibilities:
• Research and identify business opportunities in the UAE and GCC regions to support the Company’s business plans and specifically Civil and Marine;
• Conduct sector-wise analysis to identify opportunities in the key area;
• Preparation of marketing initiatives and collateral to present and enhance the Company’s image and reputation to attract and secure new Clients.
• Preparation and presentation of business proposals to potential Clients to ensure pre-qualification criteria are met thereby improving the Company potential to be invited to tender.
• Continuously monitor market trends within the region and recommend appropriate business development strategies to the Operations Director and CEO.
• Develop a database of key executives / decision makers and future project initiatives of potential Clients to facilitate reciprocal business opportunities in existing and new markets in the region.
• Develop, maintain and enhance relationships with existing and potential Clients and Consultants to ensure satisfaction levels are met and wherever possible exceeded.
• Attend and participate in promotional events such as trade shows and seminars to identify and network with new leads introducing AST to prospective Clients.
• Liaise closely with the Estimation Department to support project and client deliverables.
• Conduct an analysis of tenders lost investigating and identifying reasons therefore (e.g. pricing; business development strategies etc of competitors) and recommending improvements for future opportunities to both the Estimation and Operations Departments.
• Perform initial analysis of “Request For Proposals” (RFP) to determine the project scope; schedule, capabilities; profitability and assessing the Clients credibility in the market and compile the Project Assessment and Works Sheet for approval by Bidcom and Board members.
• Provide input and support to the Operations Director in preparation of the Company’s business plan / strategy.

Duration: Permanent

Gross monthly base salary: AED 30K - 35K per month total package

Requirements

University Qualifications: BSc Civil/Structural Engineering, preferably MBA

Nature and length of previous experience: 10-15 years of experience in a contracting related environment with at least 5 years in a similar position in the UAE including working with government entities and leading Property Developers such as RTA, Dubai Municipality, Nakheel, Emaar etc.

Other certifications obtained: Marketing, MBA, MMS

Specialist knowledge:
• In-depth knowledge of the construction process of civil and marine engineering;
• Proficiency in MS Office;
• In-depth knowledge of marketing and business development strategies;
• Understands governmental entities (RTA and DM)
• Soft Skills and Personality traits: Strategic thinking, Client Focus, Communication, Result Orientation, Relationship Building, Problem Solving and Decision Making

Language Fluency: English
