Buyer - Premium Fashion Retail

Job description / Role

Leading diversified retail business with operations throughout the GCC is expanding their fashion brand portfolio. As part of this ongoing growth plan they are seeking to recruit an experienced and suitably qualified Retail Buyer for a position overseeing several fashion brands. Reporting to the Buying Manager you will have responsibilities outlined below:

The role:
- Development of annual buying / merchandise plan for your brand
- Negotiation with international principal partner & suppliers on range of merchandise
- Develop successful assortment / range plan for each store
- Finance management of your category ensuring strong sales against budget and margin
- Oversee the inventory / logistics / stock delivery / control / warehouse delivery
- Managing stock movements between stores in the region and accountability
- Placing orders as required within line with the buying / OTB plan
- Regular international travel to both Principals head office and international trade shows
- Work on seasonal catalogues / marketing campaigns as required

Requirements

- Minimum of 5 years commercial Retail Buying experience served in a retail company with a premium fashion brand (men's ladies, kids, department stores) being essential
- Experience of managing a category business plan / OTB
- Proven negotiation skills in dealing with suppliers and principles on selecting a range
- Excellent experience in merchandise planning, strong analytical skills are essential to determine sales trends, forecast, buying cycle
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office particularly Excel
- Strong market research and ability to ensure high quality and best sellers are sold through
- A Degree from a recognised University in a Business-related field is essential
- Must have exceptional communication skills in English
