Job description / Role
Our client are a leading female fashion brand, who boast a diverse and successful portfolio of top global names. They are seeking a Buying and Merchandising Manager for their retail franchise, for this exciting Dubai based role.
They are ideally looking for an experienced buying/merchandising manager who will be accountable for a group of products within the assortment, as well as market observation and defining product ranges & qualities through conducting product range analysis. Furthermore, you will prepare, conduct and maintain negotiations and contracts with suppliers, maintain ongoing communication and relationship management with suppliers and define product retail prices. The role will also be responsible for conception and implementation of category strategies, managing the development of individual packaging and maintaining and managing close working relationships with the other buying departments.
Requirements
To be successful, you will have a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience (with a minimum of 4 years within the UAE/GCC market) of retail experience with a strong background in fashion (which can be within men, women’s, children’s, handbags or footwear). You will be degree educated (or equivalent) and ideally additionally hold a post graduate qualification (prefered but not essential).
Our client can only consider western educated candidates for this role, who also have a solid understanding of the UAE & GCC markets. In addition, you will possess excellent communication skills, a highly self motivated attitude and have a naturally analytical mind set with excellent numeracy. Candidates who have an entrepreneurial flair with a talent for negotiating and networking at the highest level will be also be preferred.
