Job Summary:

Cardiovascular technologists assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac (heart) and peripheral vascular (blood vessel) ailments. They conduct tests on pulmonary or cardiovascular systems of patients for diagnostic purposes.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Tests on pulmonary or cardiovascular systems of patients are conducted for diagnostic purposes
• Assistance provided in electrocardiograms, cardiac catheterizations and similar tests
• Processes and outcomes of activities are monitored and documented
• Relevant reports and statistics are compiled and submitted
• Stock and equipment is managed and controlled
• Assists the medical team with the assessment of the patient and any procedures that need to be undertaken
• Understands and promotes the inclusion and acceptance of diversity in the workplace
• Actively supports and maintains the core ideology and envisioned future to become the employer of choice, service provider of choice, as well as investment of choice
• Services are rendered following the guidelines of the International Patient Safety Goals, evidence based practice
• Professional ethics, Mediclinic values and caring standards are demonstrated in behavior

Requirements

• Completion of Cardiovascular Technology qualification, degree or diploma (minimum 2-year course duration)
• The Program must include both didactic and clinical experiences in noninvasive and invasive cardiology
• A current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is mandatory
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist
• A current registration or license to practice as a Cardiovascular Technologist in the country of origin or current workplace
• Able to conduct and report the noninvasive tests such echocardiogram, treadmill test, Holter monitoring and 24 hour blood pressure monitoring.
• Proficient in ECG interpretation
• Must be proficient in the English language, knowledge of Arabic is desirable
• Female candidates will be preferred for this role
