Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are building digital journeys for our various brands through website, mobile applications and omni-channel touch points. The E-Commerce Category Manager is responsible for creating product portfolio strategies for these channels thereby driving P&L targets for the respective brand/ category. The Category Manager is part of a mid-management, young, nimble team that works with a start-up mindset within a well-established organization.

• Inventory turn & lifecycle
• Full price contribution to sales
• NPS

What you’ll do:

Strategy:
• Build, plan and implement the overall product strategy for each of the brands in our portfolio
• Prepare and manage category budgets in line with overall Annual Operating Plans
• Manage and refine the Group’s digital assets – websites, mobile apps - across multiple brands and geographies
• Continuously review changes in the market, consumer trends, competitor activities and adjust business plans as necessary
• Plan and implement long term strategies for product categories
• Design exit strategies for unsuccessful products
• Enable content and catalogue creation for all product categories
• Collaborate with marketing and website merchandising teams to drive pricing, promotion calendars
• Conduct market research and implement best practices

Daily Operations:
• Drive daily sales targets
• Drive pricing and promotions calendars
• Manage supplier relations
• Liase with engineering, category managers and website merchandising team to execute the daily/ weekly merchandising calendar
• Create OTBs and ensure fill rates in line with plans
• Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities

Analytics
• Be the voice of the customer internally – share insights on navigation behaviour, product & service appeal
• Understand needs - even those that the customers themselves may not realize
• Stay on top of changing trends and strategic priorities through in-depth data analysis to predict customer behaviour

Requirements

• Strong understanding of technology and business
• Previous work experience as Category Manager preferably in an E-Commerce organisation/ department
• In depth knowledge of category, merchandising and sales operations & processes
• Cross functional collaboration
• Ability to translate strategies into execution plans and take them to completion
• Highly analytical
• Excellent verbal and written communication with interpersonal skills
• Strong bias for Action
• Educational background – NIFT post graduate/ MBA
• Prefer candidates from e-commerce backgrounds
