Chief Accountant - AMZ Group Dubai
The Chief Accountant provides accurate and timely financial and business analysis for the Group.
Responsible for all aspects of financials and cost operations related to the general ledger accounting including maintenance of financial systems, and month-end closing, inventory and stock control of the warehouse.
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the day-to-day finances and accounts operations.
• In charge of the daily Retail Sales and Variance Reports.
• Handle a whole range of financial and cost accounting role eg. AR, AP, and GL
• Review, approve and monitor payment vouchers and journal entries.
• Track, update and monitor the group’s and AMZ personal credit cards.
• Monitor the group’s fund position.
• Calculate the monthly sales commission for the Retail and Wholesale Team (Hamac, Havaianas, Vilebrequin).
• Prepares comparison reports and cost center reports according to assigned schedules (monthly, annually).
• Ensure timely closing of accounts and prepare financial reports.
• Supervise the WPS/ payroll for all AMZ operations.
• Accountable for the warehouse inventory and stock control.
• Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
• Verifies contracts with suppliers and performs credit reference checks for direct billed groups if necessary.
• Co-ordinate with the Auditors of all the companies to ensure the completion of the audits of the company yearly.
• Demonstrate care and responsibility for the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
Requirements
• CPA or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the retail industry. Relevant experience in auditing and costing is advantageous.
• Experienced in creating and generating accounting and financial reports on ERP software solution.
• Maintain full knowledge and assure compliance with local and corporate policies, regulations and labor laws.
• Familiar with preparing reports, creating presentations, analysis and recommendations.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
