Job description / Role

Our client, a reputable International African Group, is seeking to recruit a highly qualified financial professional who will be heading the entire financial function of the group. The group HQ is based in Dubai, UAE and has multi business units located in various counties in Africa. These business units are active in the areas of manufacturing, FMCG & General Trading, Hospitality and Services.

This senior role requires qualified financial professional who mainly worked within similar diversity of industries as well as who enjoys African work experience and market knowledge. And who has been working at executive senior level for the last 10 years. We regret to ignore all applicants whom their profiles are not in compliance with these requirements.

Reporting to the CEO and the Board, the job holder will be fully responsible for entire financial function taken place in sites / location with an objective of minimizing risk and maximizing revenue. He is fully authorized in the decision-making process required to achieve the organization goal. In addition, as the company operation covers multi-industries and new ventures in various places in Africa, he should have the ability to work in a complex environment that has different disciplines with different objectives needed to be achieved on time;

The incumbent should have hands-on experience in commercial finance, financial reporting, commercial contracts, joint-venture management, supply chain & procurement, consolidation, multi-location management and international financial standards & procedures including taxation.

The incumbent will be responsible for formulating the financial strategy in line with long term business objectives. Whilst heading the treasury & finance functions, he will also participate in corporate decision making along with other senior executives. As a key initiative, the job holder will focus on risk analysis, investment opportunities, due diligence, financial appraisal, consolidation of accounts and ROI.

He will oversee the entire process of launching the new businesses of the company in close coordination with the Board, Executives and the CEO. In addition, he should ensure a full compliance with the authorities’ requirements. He will develop financial models as well as risk assessment scenarios which suit the business internally & externally.

Another aspect of job is to lead the development of financial accounting policies, controls and procedures in line with local & international standards and regulatory authorities. He will present, recommend and implement financial changes and maintain required controls.

Requirements

- Qualified financial professional, who has at least 20 years of work experience within diversified similar industries
- He should have working experience with leading company
- He should demonstrate hands-on experience in financial reporting, financial appraisal, risk analysis, international financial rules & regulations, consolidation and financial allocations.
- The ideal candidate has at least 20 years of relevant experience of which 5 years should be in a similar capacity,
- Past experience in leading and directing a Public Issue in a company is a must for this position. To be successful in the role the candidate should have excellent leadership qualities, communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Having previous experience in African market as well as GCC market.
- The job holder should have graduated from reputable university, has CA or CPA
- Knowledgeable in GAAP, MIS, ERP and IFRS
- Possess market knowledge
- Demonstrate leadership, excellent communication skill both written and verbal as well as reporting skills.
- Possess commercial skills, has the ability to discuss a business issue from financial as well as commercial point-of-view.
- The post is based in Dubai with extensive travel to various locations in Africa; therefore, the job holder should be able to accept extensive travel.
