Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with a venture capital backed ecommerce start-up based in the heart of Dubai who is looking to hire a hands on Chief Technology Officer to report directly to the General Manager. As the CTO for the business your responsibility will be to provide overall technical leadership and technical accountability.
Your main responsibilities will be to work closely with the business team on the technology initiatives whilst being responsible for finalizing the technology partner(s) and managing the relationships. You will also be responsible for timely, within budget and successfully delivery of the technology solutions for the organisation. In addition to being accountable for the entire technology setup for the e-commerce business, you will manage the entire front end and back end operations of the ecommerce site. You will also be expected to be continuously developing/exploring new technology avenues as well as manage a team on software development and engineering platforms.
Requirements
The successful candidate should be experienced in component based development projects and database backed web sites. You should have sound and practical experience in object oriented development with PHP and in MySQL and know how to transfer that knowledge to others. The desired candidate should also be able to act pragmatically as much as to impart a vision and have excellent verbal and written communication skills, hold a university Degree in a technical subject and several years of experience working in technical projects in a leading position. You should also be a genuine technocrat with hands on experience on Ecommerce technologies, experience in coding and be an excellent team manager.
