Civil Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer with expertise in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of MEP systems within various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the design and implementation of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, within construction projects.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the MEP systems meet project requirements and specifications.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor the progress of MEP installations and identify any issues or discrepancies that may arise during construction.
- Review and approve MEP design plans, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure they align with project goals and comply with regulatory standards.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, contractors, and subcontractors involved in the installation and maintenance of MEP systems.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate regularly with project managers to provide updates on MEP system progress and address any potential challenges or delays.
- Conduct performance evaluations and tests on MEP systems to ensure functionality, efficiency, and safety, and make recommendations for improvements or modifications as needed.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in MEP systems to enhance project outcomes and maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Salary:
AED 7,000 to 8,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- Proven experience in MEP design, construction, and maintenance, with a strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other MEP design software, with the ability to create and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP systems in the UAE, particularly in Abu Dhabi.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving MEP system issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changes, and demonstrate a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance with industry guidelines.
