Job description / Role
Our school is seeking to appoint a Classroom Teacher for grades 4, 5 and 6. The successful primary school teacher should have a passion to inspire young minds and be committed to ensuring that every child achieves their potential.
Duties and responsibilities of the educator are:
• Preparing daily and long term lesson plans according to curriculum guidelines
• Teaching full range of subject areas
• Developing children’s interest, abilities and coordination using a variety of creative activities
• Maintain productive working habits and discipline in the classroom
• Supervising students throughout the day, both in the classroom and outside during breaks
• Attending staff meetings, training and development sessions
• Assessing and evaluating student’s educational progress and abilities
• Setting and conducting testing
• Discussing student’s progress with parents and guardians, administers and other professionals as necessary
• Advise and cooperate with the Head of Department, Head of Academics and Vice Principal and other teachers in the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching, lesson planning and assessment
• Register and monitor the attendance of students under one’s care
• Nurture a culture where teachers view themselves essentially as facilitators of learning and reflective practitioners
• Make use of technology during the delivery of the lessons
The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years working experience as a Classroom Teacher in a school environment.

Requirements
• Bachelor of Education, English, Maths and/or Science
• 2- years experience as a teacher
Skills:
• Enthusiasm for the subjects taught
• Ability to develop good relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
• Ability to work in a team
• Ability to organize and manage time
• Ability to manage classes and deal with challenging behavior
• Excellent communication skills
