CNC Machine Programmer /Operator for Theming Contractor

Adirondack Studios, an international thematic design and build contractor has an immediate need for a CNC Machine programmer and operator in our Dubai, UAE location.

ADKS has over 40 years of experience building themed attractions including some of the most popular rides at the world’s greatest theme parks and we are currently experiencing growth in all departments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Program and operate the CNC Machine mainly for the cutting of foams in varying densities so the shapes can be used for FRP mold production. As well as the programming for CNC cutting of wood material.
• Follow training provided by the manufacturer of the machine to learn how to operate, maintain the machine, troubleshoot potential malfunctions and do basic repairs.
• Read/ analyze/ interpret drawings, sketches, specifications to fully understand the requirement
• Take measurements and calculate the size and number of raw materials needed and inform to the production manager the required quantity that needs to be ordered.
• Forecast the time required to execute the job and report this to the production manager.
• Program the CNC Machine (Flexicam Gator 1830) to cut the material as descibed in the drawings (positive carve, negative carve, detailed cutting or rough cut, …) in the most efficient way to execute the task with the least amount of waste and as time efficient as possible.
• Conduct physical quality inspection of the completed work in relation to drawings and other references prior to handing it over to the next team.
• Do corrective action where there is discrepancy prior to handing over to the next team.
• Bring the training into practice and clean and maintain the equipment as prescribed in the manufacture instructions.
• Schedule the manufacturer maintenance as prescribed, call manufacturer for repairs when needed, order spare parts when needed.
• Practice and always adhere to safety procedure and regulations, maintain cleanliness and orderliness.
• Follow company rules and regulation at all time and report violators.
• Maintains and promotes harmony within the member of the organization.
• When asked conduct site related works as, lay out and measurements, cladding, assembly, installation, repairs, etc.
• Aid the FRP production departments in periods when there is less CNC work or whenever instructed by the production manager.
• Other task that maybe assigned from time to time by duly authorized company personnel forms part of this job description

Requirements

• University Qualifications: No University Degree is required
• Other certifications obtained: No specific certifications are required
• Nature and length of previous experience: Working experience in similar roles of minimum 5 years
• Specialist knowledge: Knows or is willing to learn to work with machine specific software
• Soft Skills and Personality traits: Ability to work in high-pressure environment
• Age Range: 20-60
• Language Fluency: English
• Current Location: preferably already in UAE
