Taylor Sterling is currently representing a leading construction and engineering group with a diverse range of services. Client specialises in structural steel fabrication and erection. The client has delivered some of the most iconic projects worldwide from complex stadiums with retractable roofs through to observation wheels, airport terminals, industrial facilities, process plants, commercial buildings, convention centres and museums. Client is looking to hire an experienced Commercial Manager (Steel).
Through leading the commercial department you will be responsible for the successful management and delivery of all commercial aspects of the company's projects. Ensuring that profitability and financial return to the business is maximised in a manner that does not compromise long term business relationships with clients.
Role and responsibilities:
- Following contract award, have overall responsibility for the commercial and financial aspects of projects/contracts until hand over.
- Ensure commercial and contractual advice/support is provided to the Project Team.
- Ensure the value of all variations with the client organisation are negotiated and agreed.
- Liaising with the Customer throughout the delivery of the project/contract
- Manage and recruit Quantity Surveyors
- Monitor QS's performance to ensure quality
- Forecast cash flow
Requirements
- Proven ability to manage a team of Quantity Surveyors.
- Experienced in large scale steel structures (preferably high rise buildings)
- Degree of Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Professional membership preferred
