Commis I (Pastry)

Prepare breads and pastries, including preparing doughs and fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating as appropriate. Review Production sheet to understand variety of baked goods to be produced daily. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists..

What you will be doing:

- Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow associates
- Support Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in the daily operation
- Work according to the menu specifications provided
- To Keep work section at all times in hygienic conditions according to the policy & procedure set by the hotel
- To Control food stock and food cost in your section
- Prepare the daily mis-en-place and food production in different sections of the main kitchen or extended kitchen area
- To follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate Superiors to complete the daily tasks
- To ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with the new products, recipes and preparation techniques
- To Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control

Requirements

Your experience and skills include:

- Understanding of food safety and hygiene
- Service focused personality is essential; customer related experience an asset
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and a professional presentation
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow heartists as part of a team
