Communication Expert (IT)

Job description / Role

The Communication Expert is in charge analyzing and configuring many types of communication media.

Thanks to his/her former experience with different types of networks (telephony, IP) and technologies (RF, optics) the Communication Expert is capable of understanding the correct input to the system, through proper and accurate analysis and classification.

It is important to emphasize the fact that a Communication Expert is not a Cable Technician. The Communication Expert may be helping the system with mapping certain links when needed, but never solving any hardware or software issues.

Requirements

- Strong technical orientation
- Familiarity with optical networks and technologies
- Familiarity with telephony networks
- Familiarity with the packet data world
- Broad familiarity with the field of information technology and telecom, namely:
- International communications
- Signaling methods
- Fiber communication
- Submarine cables
- Telecommunications Standards
- IP protocols
- Network components
- Trends in the world of communications.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in communication protocols, such as PDH, SDH, SS7, Legacy TDM signaling, Ethernet, MPLS, OTN, BGP.
- Experience in writing intelligence and technological reports – advantage.
