Job description / Role
• Devise, develop and implement internal communications strategies in order to support organizational objectives and the objectives of the communications strategy, playing a leading role in shaping the content, tone, and mode of delivery of key messages to all internal audiences.
• Ensure the consistent and accurate delivery of key business messages with defined internal audiences.
• Propose, manage and control budgets, ideas, themes and timescales for corporate events and internal communications campaigns.
• Act as Press Officer and to maintain good relationships with the media (external communication).
• To manage and monitor the budget for communication projects, whilst taking every opportunity to explore and secure economies of scale, synergy, and effectiveness.
• Identify key issues for internal communications on an ongoing basis and to develop specific communications plans where necessary and ensure that these issues are appropriately included in relevant regular internal communications activities.
• Deliver monthly staff newsletter and ensure alignment with all other on and offline communication channels.
• Ensure that all internal communications activities are properly integrated with our external communications, marketing priorities and strategies.
• To demonstrate the impact and value of communications activity through effective evaluation set against agreed objectives.
• To contribute and lead as appropriate corporate communications projects, actively contributing to corporate communications channels and campaigns.
• To work with publications and marketing to develop a network of communications within the Company communications forums and ensure services provide consistent application of corporate standards and quality control.
• To undertake training and constructively take part in meetings, supervision, seminars and other events designed to improve communication and assist with the effective development of the post and post holder.
Requirements
• Degree level or equivalent in Communication Studies - Preferably in a relevant discipline
• Must have a minimum of 2 years working experience in a communications role
• Competent in developing and executing communication strategies
• Must have strong Arabic and English writing skills
• Good rapport building skills
About the Company
By way of a brief introduction to National Marine Dredging Company, in 1976 as a dredging division of ADNOC a board decision was taken to form an autonomous dredging company reporting to its own Board of Directors. NMDC was founded and commenced trading in its own right on 1st January 1980.
We are a National Company owned 40% by the Government of Abu Dhabi and 60% by UAE Nationals and registered as a public company trading on the Abu Dhabi stock exchange with a registered paid up capital asset value of Dhs 169,000,000-00. Currently our business is conducted from our modern premises which include multi-discipline workshops, slip ways and a fully support administration and technical departments located in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi with subsidiary office in Zayed the Second St, Abu Dhabi.
