Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsibilities

- Scoping & delivering large solution implementations for Communications Service Providers.
- Practical understanding of industry standards & best practices along with a pragmatic approach to business, organisational & IT change management.
- Should be able to manage customer expectations of project scope, stakeholder roles and responsibilities and the change management process.
- As an Enterprise & Solutions Architect, you will engage with senior business and IT stakeholders, understand and capture their business needs and work with Oracle sales & delivery team colleagues to define matching solution deliverables.
- Engage in pre-sales activities, including customer workshops & RFx responses.
- Maximize the use of standard Oracle application processes & capabilities.
- Provide Solution Architecture & Design governance & leadership across the full programme engagement lifecycle.
- Lead solution scoping, architecture & design activities in combined BSS & OSS engagements
- Should be able to build trust and consensus among the stakeholders.
- Act as a strong advocate of the Oracle solution, while also championing the delivery of true business-differentiating capabilities.
- Communicate effectively with the IT implementation teams (customer, Oracle, implementation partners), bringing a strong technology background.
- Work in a distributed Consulting project team, will have to combine a high degree of self-sufficiency with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers in countries across the globe.
- Act as a strong advocate of the Oracle solution, while also championing the delivery of true business-differentiating capabilities.
- To engage at C-level, but also support and mentor less experienced members of the team.

Requirements

Experience level

- 15+ yrs telecoms industry experience with various Operational Support Systems and network-facing IT knowledge, across fixed/wireline & mobile networks for both consumer and enterprise/business segments. Preferably including hands-on implementation experience with Oracle's Order & Service Management (OSM) & Unified Inventory (UIM) or Unified Assurance (Assure1) applications.

- 10+ yrs of solutions architecture, business requirements capture, IT demand & lifecycle management experience, including leadership role in customer-facing architecture and technical scoping activities, across the full engagement lifecycle, from pre-sales (project scoping/costing) and post-sales (project delivery, customer enablement & live operation) roles. Experience including responsibility for combined BSS (CRM, billing) & OSS (order management) programme scoping & architecture deliverables.

Key Skills & Experience required

- A strong understanding of telecoms IT architecture, specifically service & network orchestration, inventory and assurance architecture (preferably Oracle OSM, UIM, Assurance), across multiple implementation projects & phases.
- Strong knowledge of the network domain architecture & technologies such as MPLS, VPLS, VPN, VLL, Optical circuit, DSL, VoIP and use of protocols such as SNMP, TL1, CORBA.
- Project delivery experience across full lifecycle, including business & application architecture, design, implementation, testing, migration, project governance & change management.
- Team leadership combining onsite/remote project activities and acting as coach/mentor to more junior team members.
- Strong customer-facing domain skills - should be able to drive end-to-end BSS+OSS architecture and OSS solution-related workshops with the customer.
- Strong understanding of telecoms fixed/wireline & mobile networks for both consumer and enterprise/business segments architecture and touchpoints with network and other IT systems.
- Experience of industry models & standards, including TM Forum SID & ODA.
- Experience of industry standard business processes, regional/local legal, regulatory & cultural best practices & constraints.
- Experience of participating in business development activities.

Preferred Functional/Technical Skills

- Proficiency using Enterprise Architecture tools and methods to capture business requirements, designs, test case development, use case documentation.
- Experience working in waterfall, Agile/Scrum or iterative model projects.
- Previous technical background including programming & scripting skills (C, C++, Java, python) and experience working with RDBMS.
- Understanding of modern application integration paradigms, OpenAPI & REST architecture style.
- Understanding of Cloud Native tools, technologies and framework.
