Compliance Officer - UAE National

Job description / Role

Client is an international Insurance Company is currently looking for a Compliance Officer to join the team.

PURPOSE:
Promote ethical and proper business practices. Assist and support in developing, implementing and monitoring the yearly compliance plan. Support in providing direct compliance and regulatory advice to the businesses. Assist in counseling the business on matters of risk.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Support the members of the Compliance Department in:
- Providing Compliance advice and guidance to employees
- Establishing, enhancing and implementing relevant compliance policies and procedures and providing best practice solutions
- Analyzing external regulatory requirement and trends
- Conducting Compliance monitoring activities
- Building and embedding compliance controls in business procedures
- identifying and managing various compliance risk and participating in the development of the Operational Compliance Plan
- Assisting the business with their implementation of corrective action plans for resolution of problematic compliance matters and provides general guidance on how to avoid to deal with similar situations in the future

Support the members of the Legal Department in:
- Various paralegal and corporate requests
- Liaising with parent companies and home office for organizing required legal documents such as BOD resolution and POA
- Liaising with the Government Services department on various legal related matters including timely renewal of all licenses are timely renewed

Requirements

- University degree or equivalent
- 2-3 years of experience in Paralegal, Compliance or Government Services
- UAE Nationals will be considered for this role.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- BU Compliance with all regulatory standards and within company
- Delivery of Compliance Plan and paralegal objectives

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Broad knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where the Business Unit(s) operates
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Committed team player with enthusiasm and drive
- Experience of working internationally across different cultures and languages
- Demonstrate a strong Governance culture

BEHAVIOURS:

- Working at all times lawfully and in accordance with pre defined regulatory compliance requirements
