<b>Job Description</b>
A full-time position for a Lab Engineer for the Concrete and Soil Mechanics labs is available at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering starting Jan. 2023 or as soon after. The candidate must have a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering. Candidate must also have a minimum of three years of relevant industrial/teaching experience in Concrete and Soil Mechanics. The candidate must be capable of communicating effectively with students and enhancing their learning experience. English is the language of instruction and communication in the College of Engineering at UAEU.

Application screening will begin in Jan 2023 and continue until the position is filled. The application package should include:
-Cover letter summarizing how the candidate meets the position requirements,
-A detailed CV, and
-Copies of transcripts

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Ability and commitment to attend class sessions beyond normal working hours.
-Supervise and maintain the concrete and soil mechanics laboratories.
-Prepare and test concrete and soil samples to support undergraduate and graduate courses and research projects.
-Assist students in data collection and analysis.
-Prepare and place equipment and safety products scheduled for use during laboratory teaching sessions.
-Prepare and grade class assignments, lab reports, projects, and examinations.
-Train teaching staff, research assistants, and graduate students to use different equipment.
-Provide support to help faculty members in carrying out their research projects.
-Facilitate procurement of new equipment by communicating and coordinating with vendors and the purchasing department.
-Maintain professional and ethical academic standards, including but not limited to maintaining required office hours and meeting lab/class for the scheduled duration.

The department may assign other duties as needed.<b>Minimum Qualification</b>
- B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of three years of relevant industrial/teaching experience in Concrete and Soil Mechanics
- Excellent command of the English language (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Adequate computer skills.<b>Preferred Qualification</b>
- Applicants with an M.Sc. degree in Concrete Technology or Soil Mechanics are preferred.<b>Expected Skills/Rank/Experience</b>
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment related to Concrete Technology, Material Characterization, and Soil Mechanics.
- Able to work and communicate with students in a lab environment and integrate new technologies into the learning process.
